I have BSc in Mechanical Engineering in Addis Ababa university of Ethiopia and MSc. in thermal engineering from Addis Ababa university Faculity of Technology of Ethiopia.

During my MSc, one of my core module was potential analysis of Alternative fuels ( biodiesel and GTL diesel ) for road transportation. During my study in the MSc i try to analsye the feasibilty of production of biodiesel from Jatropha and GTL diesel from the natural gas. Moreover Global warming is the great issue discusssed and method to adress the decreament is tried to be discussed. Now I am working as a lecturer on one of the universities in Ethiopia.

I am aspiring to be a specialist as well as a consultant in biofuel e. Therefore, I am willing to obtain a Phd in the field but looking for a fully- funded Phd programme that could help make this dream a reality. I am sure this website has been a source of help to so many people and I wish to be enlisted among them.

I’m Yuda Benjamin, working as an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Land Planning of Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania. I’m teaching: Thermodynamics, Mechanical Processing of Agricultural Produce and Thermal Processing of Biological Materials. My research area of interest is on processing of agricultural and biological materials. I am looking for the scholarship possibility to pursue PhD program in the area bio-ethanol production from agricultural waste particularly sisal waste.
Academically, I have completed my B.Sc. (Chemical and Process Engineering) in the year 2004 and M.Sc. (Water Resources Engineering-by thesis) in this year (2008) both degrees are from University of Dar es Salaam. During undergraduate studies I managed to obtain Upper Second Class with GPA 4.2 out of 5.0 and I was the best overall student in the department. In the undergraduate study I covered several courses like: Unit Operation 1 (Mechanical separation techniques); Heat and Mass Transfer; Unit Operation 2 (Chemical and Thermal separation techniques); Reaction Engineering; Process Plant Equipment; Process Technology; Plant Design; and Process Control. These courses together with other courses give me strong base to purse postgraduate studies. Also during my B.Sc. Final year project which was based on Food Industry Wastewater Treatment using Biological Reactors, in which I scored “A” grade. My experimental results were later used for publication of two papers: one in local journal and also in international journal.
Thereafter, I joined the Constructed Wetland Research group as an Assistant researcher which was researching on application of constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment where later I was awarded M.Sc. Scholarship to pursue M.Sc. Water Resources Engineering (by Thesis). My research topic was on “Modelling of Azo Dye Removal from Textile Wastewater using Constructed Wetlands”. There I managed and develop a mathematical model to be used during designing of constructed wetlands for the purpose of parameter optimisation as one of my research output. Also I managed to demonstrate the suitability of constructed wetlands in removing azo dye from textile wastewater.
In January 2007 I was employed as an academic staff in the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Land Planning at Sokoine University of Agriculture. Here I have been involved in there research projects (Development of an Integrated Solar Tunnel Dryer for Fish Drying along Lake Victoria; The Status of Cassava Production, Utilization, Processing and Marketing in Tanzania; Transfer and Out-Scaling of Soybean Processing Technology) and I have managed to design and fabricate both solar tunnel dryer and soybean dehuller machine. At this point we are on the testing phase. I have also worked hand in hand with my colleagues in developing new undergraduate curriculum of B.Sc. Bio-process Engineering and Post-Harvest which is going to start in the 2009/2010 academic year.
