I obtained my first degree in crop science in 2002 at the Kwame Nkrumah university of science and technology (KNUST) – Kumasi in the republic of Ghana. I have worked in a reputable crop-based research Institute for fours years, (the savanna agricultural research institute(SARI) located in the northern part of Ghana) as an assistant research scientist in crop improvement (specifically the legumes; groundnut, soybean , cowpea and bambara groundnut). I’m presently persueing an MSc.in agronomy (plant breeding) at KNUST – Kumasi in Ghana. My research work is on analysing the genetics of pod shattering resistance in soybean. However, the ultimate goal of the research is to develop varieties resistant to pod shattering which is a major constraint to soybean production. I am using conventional methods because the resources for molecular analysis are scanty. I have the interest of continuing with this work to the highest level (PhD) using molecular analysis and biochemical methods to manipulate the enzymes responsible for shattering so as to develop soybean varieties resistant to shattering with ease tthreshability. I would be grateful if I could get a Research Assistantship in a north American university to assist me achieve this dream.

I am Tilashwork Chanie Alemie from Ethiopia. I received BSc. degree in plant production and dry land farming (PPDF) at Debub Unuversity, Ethiopia in 2005. Then, I worked for two years in research institute as a plant breeder.
