In 2006, I graduated from the Vitebsk state Academy of Veterinary Medicine with an honours degree in specialty “Veterinary Medicine”. During my study, I received an additional stipend for my excellent study results. I have got The First Prize of the International Veterinary Olympiad of Graduate Veterinary Students in the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, Belarus (2006).
I performed my diploma work on "Treatment of cows with purulent inflammation of reproductive organs" and received the grade "excellent" for this work. I am a second year post graduate student in the Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Veterinary Medicine n. S.N. Wyshelessky of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Minsk) at the Department of Pathology of Reproduction. My research work concerns fertility failure in high-yielding dairy cattle. In our laboratory we routinely use both clinical and laboratory (including different metabolic) techniques. Also I apply bacteriological, cytological, histological, immunological, embryological, computer-modeling and statistical methods. I developed three devices for collecting samples of cow’s uterus mucosa for cytological and histological examination, for which three patent applications have been submitted . The results of my investigations have been reported at different international scientific conferences.
At present I am the co-author of three veterinary drugs for treatment endometritis in cows.Nowadays a Fundamental Science including Life Science is at a transitive stage in our Republic. In this connection, I consider a position at your University as the best opportunity for my scientific development and our future productive collaboration. I will be able to grow as a researcher participating working in your program while contributing my ideas about both my research interests and issues facing your program.Best regards,Lemeshevsky Peter.

Dear Sir/Madam,

By this application I hope to find the opportunity to become a post graduate student at your University
http://scholarship-positions.com/?p=3678#comment-31683

Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Dr. Fufa Abunna Kurra. This is my application for the graduate opportunity of the Doctoral Programmes Scholarship you have announced.
I have got a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in July 1999 and degree of Masters of Science (MSc) in Tropical Veterinary Epidemiology in August 2006 from Addis Ababa University , Ethiopia . Due to the shortage of skilled manpower, I am currently delivering lectures of Animal Physiology to both Veterinary Medicine and Biology students of the University at an Assistant Professor position.
My main motivation for applying to the Doctoral Programmes in the animal physiology is my past unfulfilled passion to advance in Veterinary Physiology. Veterinary Physiology during the undergraduate training in my country is not up to the standard due to lack of qualified teachers in the only University that is offering. In fact I had an opportunity to apply Veterinary Physiology research during my DVM thesis dissertation on the physiological parameters of ovine hematology and I have published these findings on a recognized international journal. My preliminary study could have been taken to the next molecular characterization, which needs more knowledge and sophisticated laboratory analysis. But lack of technical expertise and facilities hampered to fulfill my passion in Veterinary Physiology and due to this problem I did my MSc research on Veterinary Epidemiology.
Therefore, I have strong interest to upgrade my education in the field of Veterinary Physiology by approaching some novel methods and protocols for Veterinary Physiology. As to my career objective, I have a dream that I become an asset for my poor country in improving livestock production and productivity via creating good environment for breeding and genetics research, understanding the physiological and patho-pysiological parameters of animals and its application. This could help me to contribute to the development process of making my country’s poverty history and filling the gap of skilled man power in the area of Veterinary Physiology since my University is the newly established Universities by the Ethiopian government.
In my country, the government is committed in working poverty reduction strategy. Hence, I have strong covenant in participating through the process of making poverty history in the nation. This will be materialized only if I have upgraded my knowledge through further education and work with the community in the grass-root level.
Your institute can thus help me in realizing my dreams. As past my career it also adds knowledge and confidence in my current job that I am currently delivering lectures to Veterinary Physiology to Veterinary Medicine and principles of Animal Physiology to Biology students of the University. Above all, it is a good opportunity to exchange knowledge with colleagues abroad and hence, I can appreciate the knowledge gap and unfulfilled passions that I have. The scholarship also inspires me to exploit untouched potential that was not used due to lack of access to use it and develop into new thinking on the current situation of veterinary physiology in my work area and country at large.
I hope I will be accepted as an applicant and beneficiary of institute of Doctoral Programmes in the animal physiology Scholarship. I know that admission to the programme is competitive, but I am qualified and eager, and cope with all of its challenges. I am looking forward to hearing your response soon.
Lastly, I would like to extend my gratitude to your office for giving this opportunity for such students like me. It is so inspiring being motivated by passion, generated by vision, produced by conviction and ignited by purpose.
Yours sincerely,
Fufa Abunna

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Dr. Fufa Abunna Kurra. I have investigated the neurophysiological mechanisms of food intake in broilers.
There are many gut-brain peptides that act as signals in food intake. By intracerebroventricular (ICV) injection of them we can find out the effect of those peptides in food intake mechanisms. On the other hand, by ICV injection companion with PCR we can find out the central interaction between tow peptides that inject in ICV manner, as I did in my thesis.
Furthermore, in my thesis, I have learned some techniques with other analytical techniques, for example, Semiquantative RT_ PCR.
My supervisors in Iran (Dr. H. Jonaidi and Dr. M. M. Yaghoobi) have some articles about that subject in reliable journals and they will confirm me, if it is needed.
I would like to go on my education in Ph.D course and to join your esteemed university. Kindly help me if it is possible.
With best regards

I’m investigating the physiology of the phase polymorphism of gregarious locusts.I’m investigating the physiological and neuroendocrinological mechanism of phase polyphenism of the Asiatic migratory locust. Comparative study of accessory glands of crowed reared females and isolated reared one’s by electrophoresis revealed a supplementary protein band with molecular weight in the females crowed reared gland accessory. It seems that this protein would be responsible for the gregarizing effect. But other experimentations are necessary to confirm it.So, I would like to identify the protein responsible for the phenomenon of gregarization. I wish continue my research by more deepened neurobiologic and neuroendocrinologic study but it requires a well equipped laboratory.I have begun my work with Professor Arnold DE LOOF and Dr. Schoofs L. in the Laboratory of Developmental Physiology, Genomics and Proteomics, K. U. Leuven, Belgium. But the period of my stay in Belgium wasn’t sufficient to complete my research because I haven’t a Scholarship. It’s a big problem for me until the interesting of this subject.I would be very glad if I can have this scholarship in order to continue my research for my PhD. Thanks in advance. With my personal best regardsAmel BEN HAMOUDA
