Fulbright-Nehru-CII Fellowships for Leadership in Management in USA, 2015-2016

The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) offer fellowships for graduate Indian citizen for the academic year 2015-2016 in USA. Fellowship is offered for ten weeks. Preference will be given to candidates who have not had extensive recent US experience. The application deadline is November 15, 2014.

Eligibility: The applicant should:
-Be a responsible Indian citizen who can contribute to a full and fair picture of the culture and civilization of India, and thereby help to promote understanding and friendship between the peoples of the United States of America and India;
-Have a graduate degree;
-Have at least five years of managerial experience in an industry;
-Be in good health;
-Be present in India at the time of submitting the application and interview. If you will be abroad, please keep us informed;
-Not residing in the United States;
Not be applying for or holding permanent residence (green card) in the United States;
-Preference will be given to candidates who have not had extensive recent US experience;
-Give an undertaking to return to India on the completion of the fellowship; and
-Produce an undertaking from the employer that it would be willing to bear 50% of the total cost. Applications without this undertaking will not be considered.
-Candidates with valid H1/L1 visa not eligible.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of India can apply for the fellowships.

Scholarship Description: The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) announce the Fulbright-Nehru-CII Fellowships for Leadership in Management for the academic year 2015-2016. Indian business managers, whose employers would be willing to bear 50% (US$ 20,775) of the total cost (US$ 41,550), may compete to attend a specially designed 10-week management program at the Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, from May 20 – July 28, 2015. The Tepper School of Business is one of the world’s premier centers for teaching and research in business management. The Tepper School of Business faculty members have won wide acclaim, including eight Nobel Prizes in economics.

Number of award(s): Organizations are requested to nominate up to ten candidates only.

Duration of award(s): Fellowship is offered for ten weeks.

What does it cover? Fellowships for Indian students will provide:
(a) Direct: -J-1 visa support
-Round-trip economy class air ticket between the executive’s home town/city of work in India and Pittsburgh
-Tuition fees
-Maintenance allowance in the US
-Settling-in allowance
-Accident and sickness coverage per US Government guidelines
(b) Indirect: To be a part of the prestigious global Fulbright Program that operates in more than 155 countries and awards over 8,000 grants to US and foreign nationals annually.
