Study Subject(s):Condensed-matter and Statistical Physics
Course Level:PhD and Postdoctoral
Scholarship Provider: Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization
Scholarship can be taken at: Germany
We seek highly motivated and outstanding candidates interested in theoretical questions about the dynamics of liquids out of equilibrium.
-Our group focuses on computational methods such as molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations. They will join an active group involved in international collaborations. Computational facilities, travel funds, and interaction with experimentalists will be available.
- The successful candidates will develop and apply computational methods for atomistic and mesoscopic systems.
PhD position: The PhD applicants should have a Master’s degree or comparable degree in physics or in a related subject that entitles you to do the PhD at a state or state-recognised higher education institution in Germany. Programming skills in C/C++, Fortran, e.g., are strongly desirable. Salary and working hours are in accordance with the funding guidelines of the Max Planck Society.
Postdoctoral position : The postdoctoral candidates should have a solid background in statistical physics, soft-matter or related subjects. Programming skills in C/C++, Fortran, e.g., are required. The postdoctoral position is limited for two years with the possibility of extension. Salary is in accordance with the German state public service salary scale (TVöD-Bund) and the accordant social benefits, or by a fellowship with the Max Planck Society. Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
