Each year, The French Development Agency (AFD) in partnership with the Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA) offers scholarships for master programs at PSIA in development practice (one-year program) and in international development (two-year program). The scholarships are open for the students of countries relevant to AFD’s mission. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic record and project at Sciences Po. Interested applicants can send their applications by email till April 22, 2013.

Study Subject(s): The scholarship is available for studying Master in Development Practice (one-year program) and Master in International Development (two-year program).
Course Level: The scholarship is offered for pursuing master’s degree.
Scholarship Provider: The French Development Agency (AFD) with the Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA).

Eligibility: Applicants must be admitted in the following Master programs at PSIA for the September 2013 incoming class: Master in Development Practice (one-year program) and Master in International Development (two-year program). Priority will be given to students coming from countries relevant to AFD’s mission. These countries include: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ghana, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, and Togo.

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Scholarships are available for the students of Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ghana, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, and Togo.

Scholarship Description: The French Development Agency (AFD) is the main implementing agency for France’s official development assistance to developing countries and overseas territories. Based on a special partnership with the Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA), every year multiple scholarships ranging  from partial to full tuition grants  will be offered for incoming students in the Development programs at PSIA, coming preferably from AFD priority countries.

Duration of award(s): The AFD-PSIA Scholarship is offered for the entire length of study at PSIA on condition of completing the scholarship requirements. Master in Development Practice: the scholarship is offered for one year and Master in International Development: the scholarship is offered for both years of study.

Selection Criteria: The AFD-PSIA Scholarship will be awarded to the best candidates on the basis of their academic record and project at Sciences Po, in 2013-2014.

-Copy of the official transcripts for the entire length of your time in higher education (including periods spent abroad on exchange programs)
-Two letters of reference: please sign and return the attached letter
-A cover letter of up to 1000 words written in English detailing your reasons for applying to the AFD-PSIA Scholarship and indicating in which Master program at PSIA you are admitted.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The deadlines to submit application for the AFD-PSIA scholarship is April 22, 2013.
