University of Leicester, School of Museum Studies is offering Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) PhD studentships for October 2013 entry. The studentship will pay full-time university UK/EU tuition fees for three years and include an annual maintenance grant.  Applicants must have first-class or high upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline and should meet the University’s standard english language entry requirements. The closing date of applications is 10th May 2013.

Study Subject(s): The studentship is open to applicants wishing to pursue doctoral research in any area of museum studies that can be supervised by the school’s academic staff, which includes:
-Educational and Communicative Character of Museums
-History of Museums, Objects, and Collections
-Museum Spaces and Technologies
-Scientific Analyses of Objects and Collections
-Cultural Policy and Politics
-Cultural Analyses of Museums, Objects, and Collections

Eligibility: Applicants must have a first-class or high upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline and meet the University’s standard English language entry requirements. It is expected that applicants will have a relevant Masters degree or be able to show evidence that they will achieve this before October 2013.
-This studentship is only available to applicants who are eligible to pay the UK/EU tuition fee – i.e., those who are permanently resident in the UK or another EU country. Please note that applicants from the EU (excluding the UK) must have been resident in the UK for at least three years prior to commencing the studentship to receive both the stipend and fee components of this award; EU applicants who do not meet this criteria will receive the fee waiver component only.
