20 Doctoral positions are available for international students in Germany. The positions are offered by the IMPRS on Multiscale Bio-Systems. Successful candidates will conduct research at Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces and its partner institutes in Potsdam and Berlin: University of Potsdam, Free University in Berlin, Humboldt University in Berlin and the Fraunhofer Institute of Biomedical Engineering. The students will receive a research stipend for three years. The closing date to apply for the position is February 28, 2013.
Study Subject(s): The research activities of our IMPRS are focused on four core areas: molecular recognition of carbohydrates, interaction of biomolecules with light, directed intracellular processes, as well as directed shape changes of tissues.
Course Level: This fellowship is available for pursuing PhD degree.

Selection Criteria: There will be a first selection based on the documents in the application to create a short list of applicants, who will be contacted for an interview. Selection will be made taking both the general qualifications of the candidate and the specific requirements of the project into account.
