- PhD qualification does not exceed five years at the time of the application
- In the case where a doctoral qualification has not yet been awarded, the applicant must submit an official letter stating proof of completion of studies and a date for award of the degree.
-The date of award of the degree should be within five (months) of submission of this application.
- The Master’s degree should have been by research only/fulltime research.
- Applicant must be in possession of a four year (Honors) degree with a component of research.

Scholarship Description: Fully funded research scholarships at the University of South Africa (UNISA); as part of its goals to increase research capacity, UNISA Research and Innovation Portfolio, under its Research Chairs Programme.
What it covers: These scholarships are for fulltime study at UNISA. The fellowships may be held up to 2 years for postdoctoral, 3 years for doctoral, and 2 years for Masters study. The scholarship will cover full tuition fees and stipend. This call is open to all, including external applicants who wish to study (carry out research) at UNI.
