Scholarship Description: NCLS Research is a research centre run jointly by the Australian Catholic University and church-based organisations and is situated on the ACU campus in Strathfield, Sydney. The National Church Life Survey (NCLS) is a major Australian research project conducted every five years across 20+ Christian denominations.  In 2011, some 260 000 adult church attenders, 10000 child attenders (aged 8 to 14), and 6000+ church leaders in 3000 local churches completed surveys.  In addition to the four previous NCLS dating back to 1991, these new datasets provide a rich resource for PhD students.   Much more than a study of religious attitudes and behaviour, the 2011 NCLS was a suite of different types of surveys of individuals and organisations.
