Eligibility: Applicants should have a degree in physics or material science. Academic knowledge of condensed matter physics, especially polymer physics will be appreciated.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of France can apply for the scholarship.

Scholarship Description: In the course of this PhD work the interface between functionalized solid surfaces and flowing polymeric liquids will be investigated by means of in situ shear neutron reflectometry (NR), which is able to resolve the interfacial structure on a nm scale. The neutron scattering measurements will be combined with interface sensitive rheometry for complementing the structural investigation with dynamic measurements. In order to obtain a comprehensive description of the experimental results the PhD student will also perform coarse-grained computer simulations on model systems and compare the results with theoretical predictions.
