Scholarship Description: Within the research group of Experimental Condensed Matter Physics (EKMF),Division of Condensed Matter and Quantum Optics. At EKMF we conduct both basic and applied research, with directions toward superconductivity, magnetism, and mesoscopic phenomena. Current projects include tunnel spectroscopy of high-Tc superconductors, studies of quantum mechanical phenomena in superconducting tunnel junctions and atomic super lattices, nanocalorimetric studies of iron-based superconductors, and studies of magnetic systems with quantum phase transitions. At present our group consists of two permanent staff, two postdocs, and four Ph.D. students.
