Theoretical Condensed Matter Group (TCMG) is a group in the School of Mathematics and Physics which is supporting research in areas from solid state to soft matter and chemical physics. The postdoctoral research fellowship is available for a full-time appointment for 12 months at Research Academic Level A. Applicants applying for the fellowship should possess a PhD in physics, physical chemistry of biophysics with an emphasis on theoretical techniques.The applicant will actively contribute to a research program in the theoretical molecular and chemical physics which will be internationally recognized.

Eligibility: Applicants should possess (or be in the process of obtaining) a PhD in Physics, Physical Chemistry of Biophysics, with an emphasis on theoretical techniques. Familiarity with excited-state electronic structure and the theory of nonadiabatic molecular processes is desirable.

Scholarship Description: The successful appointee will actively contribute to an internationally recognized research program in the theoretical molecular and chemical physics. The appointee will conduct research on: (i) the design of model Hamiltonians for the essential dynamics in selected families of organic dyes (ii) the simulation of nonadiabatic decay processes in these systems, including appropriate models of solution-state and biomolecular environments.

Duration of award(s): This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 12 months at Research Academic Level A.

What does it Cover? The remuneration package will be in the range $72,443 - $77,764 p.a. for Academic Level A, plus employer superannuation contributions of 17% (total package will be in the range $84,758 – $90,984 p.a.).
