Scholarship Description: You will work closely with a major vehicle manufacture exploring infotainment technologies for future high-end vehicles. In this context our aim is to evaluate the performance of current communication systems (physical and MAC layer) employing multiple antennas techniques and also propose enhanced algorithms to improve performance. You will lead work packages in the area of RF modelling and PHY layer simulation (with an emphasis on LTE-Advanced and 802.11x) within the grant and deliver research results according to the industrial proposal, formulate new research ideas and directions relevant to the grant and topic and present and demonstrate results locally and internationally to industry, conferences and standards bodies. You will be responsible for the timely delivery and reporting in association with your areas and will engage in supervising associated PhDs and undergraduate/MSc projects.
Duration of award: Research grant is offered for 12 months.
