2013 Richard Langham Memorial Scholarship at Curtin University in Australia

Curtin University offers Richard Langham Memorial Scholarship for undergraduate students. The scholarship is offered to study Bachelor’s of Pharmacy in the University. The scholarship will provide a cash payment of $1,500 per year for the first and second year, and $1,000 per year for the third and fourth year. Only Australian citizens are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria to be considered for a Richard Langham Memorial Scholarship:
-Financial hardship
-Be undertaking the 1st semester of a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at Curtin University in semester 1, 2013.
-Received an ATAR of 90 or above
-Be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or an Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder
-Be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported place

Scholarship Open for International Students: Australian students can apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Description: The Richard Langham Memorial Scholarship has been designed to assist students who may otherwise not have an opportunity to study a Bachelor of Pharmacy at Curtin University due to financial hardship.

Number of award(s): One scholarship is awarded.

Duration of award(s): Scholarship is offered for a maximum of 4 years.

What does it cover? The scholarship will provide a cash payment of $1,500 per year for the first and second year, and $1,000 per year for the third and fourth year (based on full time study load of 100 credit points each semester), $5,000 in total, to assist with costs associated with studying (textbooks, incidental expenses etc) for a maximum of 4 years.

Selection Criteria: 
Applications will be assessed by a selection panel using the following criteria:
-Demonstrated financial hardship
-Responses to the questions in the application
-Academic merit
-The scholarship will be awarded if there is a candidate of sufficient merit.

Notification: All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application via the official communication channel via Oasis within 4-6 weeks of the closing date.

How to Apply: An applicant must submit a completed application form with supporting documents attached by 4:00pm on the scholarship closing date, to the Scholarships Office at the Bentley campus.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The application deadline is 18th March 2013.
