Eligibility: This scholarship programme targets government officials, with a minimum of three years’ work experience in the field of migration and/or asylum, working in eligible countries across the developing world. To be eligible for this scholarship, participants must:
-provide evidence that they have been working for a government department of an eligible country, in the field of asylum and/or migration, for at least three years;
-obtain support from their employers, in the form of a letter stating that they will still be employed and paid for the duration of the programme.
Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of Afghanistan , Algeria, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Benin, Burundi, Cape Verde, China, Djibouti, D.R.Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Guinea-Conakry, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mali, Morocco, Mongolia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Suriname, Syria, Togo, Turkey, Uganda and Yemen can apply for the scholarship.
Scholarship Description: We’re now accepting applications for our migration management diploma programme (MMDP), which begins on 1 April 2013. Sponsored by the Dutch Foreign Ministry, we offer 10 scholarships per year to government officials from 40 developing countries with at least three years’ experience in the field of migration and/or asylum. Our three month course builds both theoretical knowledge and practical skills such as presenting and articulation; how to write policy notes and memoranda; and how to deal with conflicting interests. The course is also open to practitioners and students interested in migration issues.
Number of awards offered: Ten Scholarships are offered.
Duration of award: The scholarships are for up to three years (up to four years for candidates from developing and emerging countries).
What does it cover?
A maximum of 10 scholarships per year will be awarded at a rate of €7200 per participant. The scholarship includes the following components:
-A monthly sum to pay housing and living costs for a maximum of three months;
- An economy class return ticket and visa costs;
-A lump sum for excursions.
