Scholarship Description: The Department of Mathematics at the University of Sussex will offer a scholarship to a UK student starting a PhD in Mathematics in September 2013.The scholarship is made possible by a generous donation from Professor James W P Hirschfeld, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at the University of Sussex, and is supplemented by funds from the School of Mathematical & Physical Sciences. The award is available for any branch of mathematics. The Scholarship holder will be expected to undertake a maximum of 120 hours teaching undergraduates each year. Training for teaching will be given after registration in September 2013.
