Scholarship Description: Dr W.M. Strong of Port Moresby, by his will in 1946, bequeathed his residuary estate amounting to £35,000 to the University of Sydney for the purpose of encouraging education and research in subjects relevant to the particular needs of the then territory of Papua. In Semester 1, 2014, one Walter Mersh Strong Scholarship is available to an academically meritorious postgraduate international student from Papua New Guinea, to undertake one of the following courses: Master of Agriculture, Master of Public Health, Master of International Public Health, Master of Education or Master of Social Work. The Scholarship recipient is invited to enjoy the Sydney experience at one of the finest institutions of higher education in the world.

Selection Criteria: -Selection will be based strictly on academic merit as per the University’s admission requirements.-
-Selection will be based on actual results (academic and English language proficiency). Predicted/forecast results will not be considered.
-Only applicants with firm, unconditional offers of admission will be considered.
-Selection will be made by the Scholarship Selection Committee, whose decision will be final. No appeals will be entertained.
