University of Auckland offers up to 10 Faculty of Science Grants for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degree level. The Grants will be made to candidates who have paid the fees or arranged to pay the fees for full-time enrollment in their second or subsequent years of study in any undergraduate or postgraduate science degree. The students of New Zealand can apply for these scholarships. The application deadline is 21 September 2013.

Eligibility: The Grants will be made to candidates who have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrolment in their second or subsequent years of study in any undergraduate or postgraduate Science degree at the University of Auckland.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The Grants are tenable by students who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand (Maori and Pacific Island students).

Scholarship Description: These support grants were established in 2011 as a result of funding being allocated to Maori and Pacific Island students from the Science Student Support fund. The grants aim to support Maori and Pacific Island undergraduate and postgraduate Science students, with demonstrated financial need, to further their studies.

Number of award(s): Up to 10 scholarships are offered.

Duration of award(s): Scholarships are offered for one semester.

What does it cover? Up to 10 Grants will be made each year and will be of the value of $500 to $2,000 each.

Selection Criteria: Selection and the amount of the Grant will be based on: academic merit; demonstrated financial need; past participation in the Tuakana programme or a written agreement to participate in at least one Tuakana event within the current year.

Notification: Approximately six weeks from closing date by letter.
