“N-Heterocyclic carbenes as ligands in olefin metathesis and beyond” is a research project dedicated to studies on so-called N-Heterocyclic carbenes (NHC). NHCs, introduced as analogues to phosphines, are recently getting wide attention as excellent ligands for diverse homogeneous catalytic systems. The aim of this project is to study preparation and application of new chiral and achiral NHCs in various catalytic reactions.

The research will be executed in the Organometallic Synthesis Laboratory located at Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw.

The research work will be conducted in co-operation with scientific groups from
Università degli Studi di Salerno, Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes, and Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster.
