An Innovative Method for Assessing Shrinkage Cracking of Concrete / Fibre-reinforced Concrete: Experimental and Numerical Modelling
Applications are invited for a 3-year research studentship to be based in the School of Engineering and Design at Brunel University (BU), leading to the award of the PhD degree. The research area will be on the development of an innovative method for assessing shrinkage cracking of concrete / fibre-reinforced concrete, involving both experimental and analytical investigation.
Eligibility: Applications are invited from candidates with a 2.1 degree or higher, a master degree preferred, in civil engineering or other closely related engineering discipline. The successful candidate is expected to be an innovative thinker with good communication skills and should be enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to conduct research to meet demanding deadlines. The Scholarship: The studentship will cover tuition fees to home level and provide an enhanced living allowance over the basic stipend (currently £13,200 per annum).
