Leibniz-Center for Medicine and Biosciences in the Division of Molecular Immunology a PhD student position will be available from November, 01, 2008.

We are seeking a highly motivated biologist interested in studying membrane trafficking in immune cell function/ lymphocyte signalling. The research project will study how membrane dynamics contribute to normal and pathophysiological processes in the immune system. Work involves the investigation of the role of immune specific regulators of small GTPases that are involved in receptor endocytosis and actin cytoskeletal regulation, in immune cell signalling, immune function, as well as the regulation of cellular survival/ apoptosis (see also EMBO J. 2006 Mar 8;25(5):1009-23; Science 2003. 302 (5648): 1218-22; Science 2002 295:1539-1549).
The project involves the application of cell biological and molecular biological techniques, as well as the analysis of gene deficient mice. We expect a strong motivation and ability to collaborate in a team.
