Job description: Applications are invited for the award of ACQUIRE Scholarship Programme 2010 from 1st year UG students who are studying in the colleges (Government and Aided colleges) under Mahatma Gandhi University. The ACQUIRE Scholarship Programme is an initiative by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala. It is designed to cultivate a strong foundation for Social Science research among students from the initial years of under graduate training. Rules and Regulations are given below. Completed applications should reach The Coordinator, ACQUIRE Scholarship Programme, School of Social Sciences, Pullarikunnu, Mallossery, Kottayam – 686 041. Ph: 0481-2392383 (between 10am-4pm) on or before 15th September, 2010.
Rules and regulations for the selection of students for the acquire scholarship programme
1. The scholarship is intended only for 1st year UG students from Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology and Philosophy.
2. Students from all Government and Aided colleges under Mahatma Gandhi University are eligible to apply.
3. It is intended to nurture real inquisitiveness about the subject matter of Social Sciences and to train them through interaction with experts.
4. The scholarship will be Rs.1000/month for 10 months, along with Rs.5000 for book allowance.
5. The selection will be based on merit, in this case +2 marks.
6. SC/ST, OEC candidates should submit proof of caste/community along with their mark lists.
7. Women candidates are encouraged to apply.
8. The selection is a two-tier process including a university level camp and a final state level selection camp.
