AFF Military Family Scholarship Program at Kaplan University in USA, 2014

Applications are invited for 250 military family scholarships to undertake online associate´s or undergraduate programme at Kaplan University. To apply for a partial scholarship, eligible applicants must be a family member of a current or prior US military service member. Scholarships will cover over 50% of the tuition costs for attendance at Kaplan University. For every 50 scholarships awarded, one of the winners will be awarded a full scholarship, covering all tuition and fees to complete their degree of study. These scholarships are offered on a first-to-apply, first-eligible basis. To be considered for the full award, a 3.75 GPA must be achieved in the first term of study at Kaplan University. The applications will close once all partial scholarships have been awarded, or on October 3, 2014 (whichever occurs first).

Eligibility: To apply for a partial scholarship, eligible applicants must 1) be a family member of a current or prior US military service member, and 2) have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.00 or higher (on a 4.00 scale) from high school or prior college, and 3) be a new, or eligible returning student to Kaplan University. Partial tuition scholarship recipients who complete their first term at Kaplan University with a CGPA of 3.75 or higher will automatically be considered for a full scholarship.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Students who are family member of a current or prior US military service member can apply for these military family scholarships.

Scholarship Description: Kaplan University and The American Freedom Foundation have teamed up to establish an academic scholarship program to assist family members of current and prior U.S. military service personnel in achieving their educational goals. The 2014 Kaplan University/American Freedom Foundation Military Family Scholarship Program will award a total of 250 partial tuition scholarships to qualified students to complete an online associate´s or bachelor´s degree. These scholarships, offered on a first-to-apply, first-eligible basis, will cover over 50% of the tuition costs for attendance at Kaplan University. Five full scholarships (covering all tuition and fees) will also be awarded.

Selection Criteria: These scholarships are offered on a first-to-apply, first-eligible basis. In selection of the full scholarship, preference will be given to family members of a combat wounded or disabled, or combat deceased service members who meet full scholarship eligibility criteria.

Notification: Kaplan University will notify recipients throughout the application period as eligibility is verified. Students whose applications do not appear to be eligible for this program will be notified by Scholarship Management Services upon receipt and evaluation and before November 15, 2014.

Online Application: Interested applicants must apply for the Kaplan University/American Freedom Foundation Military Family Scholarship using the online application. In addition to completing and submitting the online application, applicants must submit the following documents in English. Include your name and application ID number on all required documents. PDF files are preferred. You may upload them as part of your application OR mail paper copies via post.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The scholarship application period will open on January 27, 2014 and will close once all partial scholarships have been awarded, or on October 3, 2014 (whichever occurs first).
