Dear Sir/Madam

I, Hailu Teshome( from Ethiopia), have a BA degree in Political Science and International Relations from Addis Ababa University (College of Social Science) with over (07) years of professional experience in different governmental (3 years) and non-governmental organizations(4 years). Much of my work has focused in the area of policy advocacy, capacity building training, public education, sensitization workshop and community mobilization and campaigns with emphasis on HIV/AIDS and Gender related project including Gender Based Violence, Domestic Violence and their legal implications in the light of domestic and international instruments and the gender aspect of family planning, reproductive health and rights as well.
As someone interested in human rights, social justice and civil society, I was pleased to learn from every piece of the available opportunities at an established human and women’s right organization, Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association, where I worked as a Training Officer and Gender Specialist for three years.

Besides my previous Project Coordinator position at Ethiopian Orthodox Church Illubabor Diocese Sunday School HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Project where I undertook project design and implementation in the fields of respective HIV/AIDS behavioral change communication, care and support program, monitoring and evaluation and general project management and my current Training Coordinator position at the Private Sector Program for Ethiopia on Work Place HIV/AIDS and TB Prevention Program have an added value for my proficiency in the area( as an employee for Population Service International Ethiopia). In connection with community and social mobilization skills, I have special short course trainings and practical experience of community conversation in the fight against HIV/AIDS, gender based violence and harmful traditional practices that affects the lives of the vast majority of children (child girls) and women challenging their reproductive and health rights and participation in other socio-economic and political development in general.

There for, given my professional background and relevant work experience mentioned above , I am here seeking for your advice how I can get scholarship in one of the following fields for masters program in Social Sciences especially in: Gender and Development Studies, Social Work, Peace and Conflict Transformation.

I am ethiopian. I have recieved Mster of Arts in Litrature with “very good” grade. I have graduted from Addis Ababa University, Literature department. My MA Thesis is focused on Ethographic documentary films storytelling, whic is produced by local filmmaker organization, with aharic language. I think I can compete for African Thesis Award 2009.
