   it was by searching from Advance Africa.com website that I find your website.
   By the way of introduction, I am Physician and I am working in a rural area health of Tandala there are 3 years ago. Actually I
   am Medical Director of Tandala Hospital.
   Tandala Hospital is located in North of Democratic Republic of Congo.

   I would like to be trained some where in Health Reproductive and return to my country for working and doing reseach with the suject below .

   Topic:

   To promote the service of family planning for reducing maternal and infant mortality in the area health of Tandala in Democratic Republic of CONGO(DRCONGO).

   Introduction
   Maternal and newborn mortality in DRCONGO is a human tragedy and a social injustice regard to the women, because a woman should not die for giving birth and an infant should not die during delivery from preventable causes.
   Reproductive health in DRCONGO is characterized by:
   -An increase rate of maternal mortality with a national average of 1289 per 100,000 live births;
   -The fall of the contraceptive prevalence of 15% in 1987 to 4.6% in 1998;
   -a fertility as high with a potential increasing due to the high proportion of young people under 25 years old representing 68% of the population;
   -The mother-child transmission of HIV / AIDS is 30%;
   -inadequacy especially in rural areas with no qualified Health workers, limited materials and financial resources.

   A Multisectoral assessment conducted in July 2007 in the province of Equateur where the area health of Tandala is located showed that the indicators have fallen to a level close to the humanitarian crisis. Acute malnutrition and a significant maternal and infant mortality very high plus the means of subsistence precarious dangerously affect people’s lives. Mortality rate for children under 5 years has reached dizzying heights up to 432 per 1000 live births.
   The problems encountered are of several kinds: health facilities are limited supplied, health workers are insufficient and less trained and they are working without guidelines adapted to care problems of maternal, newborn and child health in emergency situations.
   Challenges:
   DRCONGO is one of poor and heavily indebted countries; this limits the allocation of sufficient resources to health and in particular to the program of reproductive health for mothers, newborns and infants. Increasing poverty especially among women is a major obstacle limiting women’s access to health services they grandly need.

   Situation in area health of Tandala in 2008:

   -maternal mortality was 1386 per 100,000 live births which is more than the national average of 1289 per 100,000 live births
   As one of health workers I do believe that it’s opportune to enable the development of skills for health workers in healthcare facilities for promoting the family planning service is likely to reduce the rate of maternal and infant mortality in the area health of Tandala.
