Applications are invited for Alpha Kappa Alpha Scholarships from college students to undergraduate and graduate programme. These AKA scholarships for college students are only one-year one-time scholarships. The Foundation awards both merit and financial need scholarships without regard to gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity or disability. Awards range from $1,000.00 to $3,000.00. The application deadline for undergraduate programme is April and graduate programme is August.

Eligibility: Merit scholarship eligibility for both undergraduate and graduate students:
-To be eligible for this one-year one-time only scholarship, the applicant must:
-Be a full-time, sophomore or beyond;
-Be currently enrolled in an accredited degree-granting institution;
-Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (“B” average);
-Demonstrate community service and involvement.
Financial Need scholarship eligibility for both undergraduate and graduate students:
-To be eligible for this one-year one-time only award, the applicant must:
-Be a full-time, sophomore or beyond;
-Be currently enrolled in an accredited degree-granting institution;
-Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (“C+” average);
-Demonstrate community service and involvement.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Alpha Kappa AlphaStudents from USA are eligible to apply for this AKA scholarship.

Scholarship Description: Scholarships are the primary means by which EAF carries out its mission. The Foundation awards merit and financial need undergraduate and graduate scholarships.

What does it cover? Awards range from $1,000.00 to $3,000.00. Qualified expenditures include: Tuition, room/board, coursework fees, books and supplies (paper, notebooks, computers, electronic media, etc); local transportation (e.g., to/from/at school), including bus fare, mileage auto expense, parking, and tolls

Selection Criteria: The following general criteria are a summary and applies to all award categories:
-Graduates must be a full-time (depends on schools qualifications) and currently enrolled student at an accredited degree-granting institution. On-line and accelerated classes are accepted. Graduate students must plan to continue their academic pursuits in the fall of the grant year. (graduate scholarship)
-Undergraduates must be a full-time and currently enrolled student with at least a sophomore standing at an accredited degree-granting institution (undergraduate scholarship)
-Demonstrated exceptional academic achievement/or financial need.
-Leadership, volunteer, civic and academic services.

Notification: Undergraduate Awards will be announced in August and Graduate Awards will be announced by December.
