The Australasia region of AngloGold Ashanti conducts its operations predominantly in Western Australia through the Perth Corporate Office, Sunrise Dam Gold Mine and the Tropicana JV (with Independence Group NL).
Who is eligible to apply to the program?
Any undergraduate student with Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (including New Zealand citizens) who will be in their second, third, or final year of a Geology, Geophysics, Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, or Environment course at an Australian of New Zealand university in 2011 is eligible to apply.
What do I need to include in my application?
Your application should consist of three things – a cover letter, resume/CV, and a grades transcript. Your cover letter should include a very brief summary of your education and work history; why you have applied to the scholarship program; what attracted you to your chosen discipline; why you are interested in AngloGold Ashanti; and any other information you feel is relevant.
For first year students applying (i.e. to receive the scholarship in their second year of study), we understand that a grades transcript may not yet be available to you at the time of application. We will request a transcript from you once available.
When do applications close?
Applications close at 6pm AWST 31st July 2010.
How will I know if my application has been received?
You should receive confirmation by email. If confirmation is not received within 1 week of your application, please contact Human Resources at AGAHR@anglogoldashanti.com.au
When will I find out if I have made it to the next round?
Short-listing of applicants begins after the closing date. This process can take up to a month due to the number of applications.
