Scholarship Description:

This PhD position will be funded for up to three years, full-time study as part of the ARC linkage project Airports of the Future (ARC Linkage Project LP0990135).The project will focus on the implications of BIM (Building Information Modelling) on the use of airport terminals. The prime focus will be on information needed for design, construction and facility management of airport terminal buildings. The facility management aspects will involve working with other researchers who will be examining security, business processes, human behaviour and complex systems.

This scholarship is offered once only to one suitable candidate. The scholarship is open for applications until September 30, 2010.

Payment Information:

The value of this scholarship is AU$27222 (per annum, tax exempt). This award is to be used to support research and living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

Research Information:

This scholarship is for one of the following field of research: Building Information Modelling.

Eligibility:

This scholarship requires you to have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, Honours 2a or equivalent in a relevant field. The ideal recipient will have a strong interest in the use of BIM and its application across multiple disciplines. Potential candidates will have qualifications in either architecture or engineering building services and some background in the use of CAD.
