APAI PhD scholarship

Applications are invited from appropriately qualified individuals for PhD scholarships in the Faculty of Built Environment and Engineering at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane.
As one of Australia’s largest universities, QUT has a solid record of success in solving problems for industry and the community, and developing new products and processes.
The Scholarships are Australian Research Council (ARC) funded on APAI salary of $26,140 pa, with likely Faculty top-ups of at least $6,000.
QUT’s Faculty of Built Environment and Engineering is offering a number of these scholarships for successful PhD candidates to work on the following project:
School of Design Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree (three years duration starting early 2008)
This project will investigate the relationship between age and intuitive interaction with complex devices. Students will work in an interdisciplinary team within a state of the art laboratory. Students will have a design and/or human factors background and must have an Honours 1 or high 2A undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in interaction, interface or industrial design (or equivalent experience).
