The ASB Bank & NZ Shareholders Association offers PhD Scholarship. It provides a tax-free stipend plus compulsory tuition fees, to a total value of up to $30,000.00 per annum. The scholarship is available for both domestic and international students who enrolled full-time at the University of Auckland Business School. The scholarship is available for research in the field of corporate governance and capital markets, with a particular emphasis on implications. The selection criteria will be potential academic merit, leadership potential, and potential contribution to industry. New Zealand Scholarship application should be sent by 1 May 2013.

The Scholarship shall be available to a student enrolled full-time at the University of Auckland Business School who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for a PhD studying New Zealand corporate governance(see Note iii). The Scholarship is tenable by both domestic and international students.

Scholarship Description: The award of the Scholarship is conditional upon the ability of The University of Auckland and the Business School to provide adequate supervision and resources.
Number of awards offered: One scholarship is offered.
Duration of award(s): Scholarship is offered for 3 years.
What does it cover? The ASB Bank & NZ shareholders Association PhD scholarship provides a tax-free stipend plus compulsory tuition fees, to a total value of up to $30,000.00 per annum.
Selection Criteria: The basis of selection will be potential academic merit; an assessment of the quality of the proposed topic of the research and its potential impact on New Zealand business development, and relationships of stakeholders; and an assessment of the applicant’s ability to complete the thesis in a timely manner. Consideration will also be given to leadership potential, potential contribution to industry, past study and experience in areas relevant to the proposed topic, written and verbal communication capabilities, interpersonal abilities, project management skills and demonstrated skills as a self-starter.
Notification: Approximately six weeks after the closing date by letter.
