Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) is offering Clare Burton Memorial Scholarship for Australian students. Scholarship is open to students enrolled or intending to enrol in an ATN University, in either a postgraduate coursework or research degree program where the major piece of work focuses on gender equity. Scholarship Description: The Clare Burton Memorial Scholarship commemorates Dr Clare Burton, a leading researcher, public sector administrator, academic, consultant and writer on employment equity. It provides funds to support postgraduate research into gender equity. This scholarship was established by the five universities of the Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN): Curtin University of Technology, Queensland University of Technology, RMIT University, University of South Australia and University of Technology, Sydney. The Clare Burton Memorial Scholarship is open to students enrolled or intending to enroll in an ATN University, in either a postgraduate coursework or research degree program where the major piece of work focuses on gender equity.

Duration of award(s): The stipend is available for a period of 12-18 months, and is open to both full-time and part-time students.

What does it cover? The successful applicant will receive $10,000 research funding along with individual support and mentoring related to their current research and future careers.

Selection Criteria: The primary criteria for considering applications are:
– the quality of the research proposal
– the capability of the researcher.
Other considerations may include:
-The applicant’s financial need
-lack of previous access to research opportunities
-being from an under-represented group within higher education research.
The submitted application will be the major consideration for the selection committee, but interviews with applicants may also be considered.

Notification: The applicants will be notified between 9 – 13 November.

How to Apply: Scholarship candidates are encouraged to discuss their applications with their own academic supervisor. The applications should be submitted via post.
