Austin CPA Chapter/CPE Foundation Scholarship Program in USA, 2015

The Austin CPA Chapter/CPE Foundation is awarding CPA scholarship for junior, senior or graduate accounting students who plan to become Certified Public Accountants and enter the accounting profession. Applicant must have completed Intermediate I Accounting course. Scholarships of $500 – $2,500 will be awarded at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee based on applicant’s qualifications, with the highest award being the Bette Williams Scholarship. The application deadline is December 1, 2014.

Eligibility: To be considered for this Scholarship, a student must:
-Be a current TSCPA Student member (membership application attached).
-Be a junior, senior or graduate accounting major attending a university in the Austin Chapter Area where classes are approved by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, or a student of Austin Community College’s Professional Accountant, Advanced Technical Certificate program, with the intent of becoming a Certified Public Accountant and entering the accounting profession upon graduation.
-Accounting GPA of 3.0 or better
-Have completed Intermediate I Accounting course

Scholarship Description: Austin Chapter Texas Society of Certified Public AccountantsThe Austin CPA Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants offers scholarships to accounting students who are junior, senior or graduate students, who have a 3.0 GPA or better, have completed the Intermediate I course and who intend to become a Texas CPA. Scholarships range from $500 to $2500.

-A typed letter, no longer than one page, addressed to the Scholarship Committee, Austin CPA Chapter/CPE Foundation, explaining why you want to become a CPA.
-A typed or neatly printed application, signed by the chairperson of the university’s accounting department.
-Official cumulative college transcript(s) through the end of the summer 2014 semester to include credit hours earned from all colleges and universities and cumulative GPA.
