ADVERTISEMENT FOR PROJECT POSITION
Applications are invited for one post of SRF(Professional)/SRF/JRF at the Department of
Biotechnology, IIT Guwahati for the project entitled “
Purification, Characterization and
Production of Microbial Cutinase
” funded by Department of Science and Technology,
Government of India.
Fellowship
For SRF (Professional): Rs. 15,000/ per month, SRF: Rs. 14,000/ per month, JRF: Rs. 12,000/
per month + HRA and Medical allowance as per the institute rules.
Essential Qualifications
SRF Professional:
M. Tech in Biotechnology/Biochemical Engineering or equivalent/ B. Tech
in Biotechnology/B. Pharm or equivalent with at least two years of relevant research experience.
SRF:
M. Tech in Biotechnology/Biochemical Engineering or equivalent or M. Sc. in Life
Sciences//B. Tech in Biotechnology/B. Pharm with at least two years of relevant research
experience.
JRF:
M. Sc. in Life sciences with valid GATE Score or qualification of NET/LS/equivalent test
conducted by ICAR/ICMR.
Desirable Qualifications
First division throughout academic career. Experience in protein purification, PCR, cloning and
expression of gene (s) using bacterial expression system (s) will be given priority.
Terms and conditions
The appointment shall be on yearly contractual basis (up to Aug. 2011) subject to the
performance of the candidate in the project work.
