International Students Academic Merit Scholarship, USA
Eligibility: Be admitted to ETSU as full-time, degree-seeking students (undergraduate admissions, graduate admissions). Have or plan to have an F-1 or J-1 student visa. Have a demonstrated record of academic achievement. Fill out the scholarship application form. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as they are admitted to ETSU.
Application Deadline: Fall semester deadline- no later than June 1st, Spring semester deadline- no later than October 1st.
ITTO Fellowship Programme 2011 for International Applicants
Subject: Activities will aim at developing human resources and professional expertise in one or more of the following areas.
Eligibility: 1.Only nationals of ITTO Member countries are eligible to apply. 2. Awards are to be made to individuals not to institutions. 3. Previous ITTO Fellowship awardees are not eligible to apply for another ITTO Fellowship within two years of receiving the first award and submitting to the Secretariat a final report on the activity for which the award was made.
Application Deadline: 25 March 2011 for fellowship activities that will start after 1 September 2011.
International Scholars Fellowship Program in Humanities and Social Sciences 2011
Organization: Open Society foundation
Subject: Humanities and Social Sciences
Eligibility: The competition is merit-based, and priority is given to individuals who most closely match the profile of an “ideal” candidate. Specific eligibility factors include the following: 1.A PhD (or equivalent highest degree awarded in the field) in an academic discipline from the list above. Applicants for this program must be senior or well-established academics currently employed by an institution of higher education, or remaining closely associated and still active in teaching and research at a university; recent degree recipients will not be considered. 2. Extensive experience in scholarly research and teaching. The successful candidate will show proficiency in innovative teaching methodologies specific for the discipline, and a strong commitment to high-quality teaching. 3.Ability to help compose the year’s plan for departmental reform, evaluate needs, and determine how their expertise can most benefit the department. Before final placement, the program and the partner department work with the International Scholar to design a work plan that is both rewarding and feasible for the fellows and of greatest help to the department. The plan must include long-distance mentoring that bridge the time between short departmental visits.

SVS International Scholars Program for Young Vascular Surgeons, USA
Subject: Vascular Surgery
Eligibility: 1.Applicant must be a graduate of a school of medicine , must be at least 35 years old, but no older than 40, on the date that the completed application is filed, Applicants must submit their applications from their intended permanent location. Applications will be accepted for processing only when the applicants have been in surgical practice, teaching, or research for a minimum of one year at the intended permanent location, following completion of all formal training (including fellowships and scholarships). Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to teaching and/or research in accordance with the standards of the applicant’s country. Applicants whose careers are in the developing stage are deemed more suitable than those who are serving in senior academic appointments

2012 International Leaders in Education Program for Malaysian Practicing Teachers, USA
Organization: Fulbright Commission
Subject: English , Social studies, Math or Science
Eligibility: Be citizens of Malaysia ,Be secondary-level, full time teachers with a bachelors degree or equivalent and have five or more years of classroom experience in English as a Foreign Language (EFL), Social Studies, Math or Science. Be proficient in written and spoken English, Must reside in Malaysia at the time of application. Please note that this is a program for practicing teachers. Ministry of Education officials, educational administrators and full-time teacher trainers, university faculty, private English language tutors and teachers from schools primarily serving expatriates are not eligible.

2012 International Fulbright Science and Technology PhD Program for Vietnamese Students, USA

Eligibility: Applicants must have at least “junior” status for 2011-2012 in an accredited U.S. college or university with at least a 3.0 Grade Point Average or equivalent “B” average.
