Hostelling International (HI) is providing a life changing experience. A two week international exchange program starting from July 25-August 8, 2015 will be an eye opener.
HI invites application from young adults of Egypt, France, Germany, Lebanon, Tunisia and the United States to the exchange program taking place in Paris, France. The purpose is to enable young travellers explore other cultures and tradition.
Called as IOU Respect, it is open to the young people in the age bracket of 18-23 years.
IOU Respect aims to increase young people’s knowledge of other cultures, enhance their intercultural communication skills, and develop attitudes for mutual benefit, peace and tolerance. The candidates will be allowed to engage take part mutual dialogue sessions, team-building project work, and group outings and activities. The International Exchange program for the year 2015 shall be held in the Yves Robert HI Hostel, Paris, France.
The IOU respect experience is exclusive. It gives a chance for people to be friends at the end of the day and explore diversity. Speaking about the IOU Respect, Russ Hedge, CEO, HI USA, said, “IOU Respect breaks down barriers and helps participants build lasting relationships on a foundation of appreciation, respect, and understanding. The candidates wishing to apply for the exchange program should be 18-23 years old. They should be fluent in English. The exchange program doesn’t allow HI USA employees and the people previously participated to apply for this exchange program. The candidates need to complete the application and provide references. Once selected, they will be prompted for a phone interview.
The cost for participating in the program varies from country to countries. American participants are required to pay their transportation cost that involves a round-trip flight and other transportation costs. Upon arriving, HI will bear the cost in the host city. Once the program is completed, participants from America shall receive USD 500 as travel stipend. The program might select 4 Americans in the exchange program.
The last date for application is May 15, 2015. The phone interview is scheduled on May 20, 2015 and the list of selected participants will be released on June 5, 2015.
