The International Travel College, New Zealand (ITC) has notified for the 2016 scholarship opportunity. The theme for the scholarship is ‘Tell Us Your Story’. The scholarship opportunity is for one full course (New Zealand Certificate in Tourism with a Strand in Aviation Level 3, New Zealand Certificate in Tourism with a Strand in Tourism and Travel Level 3, or the first six months of the Diploma in Tourism and Travel Management Level 5) which is scheduled start in 2016.
The scholarship requires the prospective students to submit a piece of creative work that showcases their passion for working in the airline, travel or tourism industries. Candidates can use video footage, blog posts, a comic strip, an illustration or other modes to supplement their application process.
It is open for people from various backgrounds and in the age of 17 and above. While writing the application for the scholarship, applicants must include specific information such as ‘why they want to study at ITC?’, ‘How this scholarship will impact their life?’, ‘their passion about travel and tourism’, ‘their proudest accomplishment so far’, ‘their aspirations and dreams’, ‘their motivation towards hard work’, and ‘if given a chance, where would they travel tomorrow’.
Candidates are instructed to write not more than 800 words or make a video not more than 4-minute. The video files should be uploaded on YouTube and the link should be given in the application form. The scholarship is awarded once the candidate successfully completes the course. If the candidate is awarded with the scholarship, then he/she must claim it within 6 months of the course finish date.
If a candidate is already enrolled in any course starting in 2016, he/she is still eligible to apply for the scholarship. Once the candidates make their entry, ITC shall send an email to acknowledge their entry. The results will be intimated through phone and email. Furthermore, ITC will also post information regarding the successful candidates on their website and Facebook page. The applicantis required to send their application via email to schools-at-itc.co.nz by December 7, 2015.
The application can be of any format: MS Word, PDF, PowerPoint, Blog URL, YouTube URL. The results will be declared by December 15, 2015. The competition is open to all New Zealand citizens, residents and international students.
The International Travel College is accredited with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), International Air Transport Association (IATA/UFTAA).The courses provided in ITC are approved for providing loans and allowances forstudents with the help ofthe Ministry of Education. The New Zealand Immigration Service recognizes and approvesvisas for students. ITC has campuses located in Central Auckland and Botany Town Centre.
