Writing a scholarship recommendation letter is a responsible and a difficult task because it’s the duty of the writer to provide specific and true information about the student. The most convincing recommendation letters provide the information that either expands something which was explained in the students’ application or inform regarding totally new thing. The paramount recommendations are not a mere data of what the student has achieved but the illustration upon these accomplishments. A recommendation letter offers information about students’ character and work ethic in written form. Various colleges and graduate schools in the admission process need at least one recommendation letter.

The main question arises is to choose whom for writing the recommendation letter. The people who know us well from our current work in the classroom are best suited to support our letter. They are well-known with our academic capabilities and intellectual talents. These people have observed how we respond to various challenges in the classroom and recognize our aptitude and aspiration to be taught. Our professors, analysts, teachers and counselors are our best defenders and writers for our recommendation letter.

A badly written letter of recommendation for scholarship can seriously affect a students’ chance to get admission or full scholarship for college. The writer should always tell the student how strong a letter he/she can honestly write on the applicant’s behalf. The writer should also ask for as much information from the student as possible (application form, due date, copies of work done in the course, etc.) and this will help in putting things in detail in the paper. A student should make available the writer the copies of his/her application materials, transcript(s) and resume.

Recommending somebody for a scholarship grant and writing this kind of letter is a big responsibility and it can also increase gradually. Being a teacher the person may be asked to write a recommendation letter in favour of an ex- student’s application for a college scholarship. The concerned letter will need to give information about his/her experience with the applicant in an educational environment and his/her outlook of applicant’s capability for success in a higher education setting. There are various ways to draft a recommendation letter. Following topics should be considered while writing a letter of recommendation for scholarship on behalf of a student:

-Explain about the confrontment of the student in specific circumstances.

-Student’s passion and devotion for academic area or subject.

-Writer should also mention unprecedented achievements of the recommender in career or academic history.
