Currently, I am working in a local NGO, named Vision Eritrea in the department of Health and Nutrition in Community Based Health Care division. Community Based Health Care (CBHC) is a project working in a rural area aimed to give improved health services for the community in the remote areas mainly focused in women in the child bearing age and children under five.
Hence, I am applying for Masters degree in the Community Health or Public Health or other related fields you have, that can help me to support the rural communities in large.

I am interested in finding a scholarship that would allow me to study Mandarin.

I have already had the opportunity to go abroad to China to teach English for a period of time. In only a few short months I was able to acquire parts of speech that was necessary for me to survive.

During my time in China, I had the opportunity to speak to a fellow “westerner”. I was told that it only took him four months to do quite well with the Mandarin language. Imagine what a year might do! I believe China is and will become more important for Canada. To acquire this language will become an asset in future dealings with the Chinese people, whether it be for business prospects, or simply to help promote peace and friendship between the people of Canada and the immigrants of other countries.

I hope that I will be considered as a possible candidate for an international education scholarship
