Equal Education and the Canon Collins Educational and Legal Assistance Trust are offering Canon Collins Equal Education Scholarship for January 2015 program. The scholarship is available for pursuing a master’s or equivalent postgraduate level at a South African university. Master’s scholarship is open for South African resident and Nationals of other African countries are eligible only if they have official refugee status in South Africa. The online application will be open until 28th July 2014.

Study Subject(s): The postgraduate scholarship is provided to learn any of the courses offered by the South African university.
Course Level: This scholarship is for pursuing Master’s or equivalent postgraduate level at a South African university.

Eligibility:
-To qualify for the scholarship you must:
– Be ordinarily resident in South Africa and be a national of one of the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. (Nationals of other African countries are eligible only if they have official refugee status in South Africa);
– Have worked or volunteered for at least 3 years for Equal Education;
– Have at least one of your references from Equal Education;
– Be in possession of a good undergraduate degree;
– Be seeking funding to study at Master’s or equivalent postgraduate level at a South African university, commencing January 2015.

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Resident in South Africa and national of one of the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. (Nationals of other African countries are eligible only if they have official refugee status in South Africa) can apply for this postgraduate scholarship.

Scholarship Description: Canon Collins TrustCanon Collins Trust is inviting application for Equal Education Scholarship for Postgraduate. The students of Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe can apply for the scholarship. A scholarship valued at R75,000 per year for 2 years, subject to our normal terms and conditions.

Duration of award(s): Scholarship is offered for 2 years.

Selection Criteria: Applicants will be assessed against the criteria outlined below:
1. Academic Record and References
2. Leadership Competencies & Personal Qualities will be assessed.
3. Commitment to Equal Education and to its vision and mission
4. The application form. Take care when filling it in.

Notification: We will be interviewing shortlisted applicants by telephone in October 2013. We will let you know the outcome of your application in November 2013.

How to Apply: Applications should be submitted online through the Canon Collins portal.  It can be found on the Canon Collins Trust website, when the call for applications is open. You will find full instructions online when you start a new form. Please do not type in block capitals. You will receive a confirmation when you submit your form. It is your responsibility to ensure that your application is complete and accurate before submitting your application online. All sections of the form need to be complete before the system will allow the application form to be submitted. Information can be saved and the application form edited until the applicant chooses to submit. All applicants are required to upload the following supporting documentation:
• Certified copy of degree certificates, if available
• Certified academic transcripts
• Two reference letters, one of which should be from Equal Education
• ID document (the following are acceptable: passport, birth certificate, driver’s license)
You may also need to submit:
• Two payslips, if currently in paid employment
• Proof of refugee status, if applicable
