Centre for Conflict Resolution & Human Security Fellowship, India
Job Description: The Centre for Conflict Resolution & Human Security (CCRHS) is a research-based and policy-oriented non-government institution. With its focus on human security, the Centre is committed to advancing peace and democracy in India and the South Asian region.
The Centre announces its first Fellowship Program for the year 2010-2011 and invites applications from individuals working broadly on issues pertinent to the framework of Human Security and Conflict Resolution. The purpose of the Fellowship is to provide opportunities to those individuals who want to develop a deeper understanding as well as generate new ideas and provide concrete recommendations for further action.
The duration of the Fellowship Program will range between 6-10 months. Individuals can apply for grants up to INR 100,000. The deadline for application is June 30, 2010.
Eligibility
CCRHS Fellowships are open to experts, scholars, PhD students, professionals and activists working under one of the following broader or specific topics:
- Conflict & Politics
- Conflict Resolution & Peacebuilding
- Human Security
- Internal/National Security
- Caste & Ethnic Violence
- Religious Sectarianism
- Left-Extremism and other ideological movements
- Liberation/militant movements
The submitted proposals must be realistic in scope, clearly formulated and considerate of theoretical and methodological concerns. Proposals can range from social to historical research or be inter-disciplinary, including field work, empirical research or literature studies. Projects which include practical policy recommendations will be given funding priority.
Expected Outcome
The Fellows are expected to produce a 30-40 page report at the completion of their research. An interim report or first draft of the final report must be submitted to CCRHS two months in advance of completion of the study. In addition, CCRHS expects the Fellow to disseminate the report widely, to both academic and non-academic audiences, as well as support the Centre in doing so.
Application process
The CCRHS Board for the Fellowship Award, including academic and non-academic personnel, will review the proposals and make a short list from the submissions. The short listed candidates will be called for an interview. The amount of award and duration of the fellowship will be determined by mutual consent.

· CV
· Statement of Purpose: including personal , interest, desired objective, constraints and scope and impact of the study
· Research Proposal including detailed research methodology
· Budget (detailed plan for expenditures)
· Timeframe/work-plan
· 2 references
· 2 sample writings (preferably published)
