2016 CNRS Postdoctoral Fellowship in Physics of Turbulent Flows, France

National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) is offering postdoctoral fellowship in physics of turbulent flows. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Jeremiah Bec at Laboratoire Lagrange. The Lagrange Laboratory is a joint unit of the Nice Observatory, CNRS and the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis. The candidate is expected to develop collaboration with several team members. The team will provide basic support for travel and small equipment. The successful candidate will benefit from a fixed-term contract as a CNRS employee for 2 Years.

Study Subject(s): The team is supporting a postdoctoral fellowship on a subject related to fundamental questions in hydrodynamic turbulence and/or turbulent transport and related fields.
Course Level: Fellowship is available for pursuing postdoctoral programme at the Lagrange Laboratory.

Scholarship Description: The Lagrange Laboratory is a joint unit of the Nice Observatory, CNRS and the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis. It is a multi-disciplinary department with activities in astrophysics, astronomy, fluid dynamics and signal and image processing. Members of the Fluid and Plasma team works on various fundamental questions related to the description and modeling of turbulence in hydrodynamics, magneto-hydrodynamics and plasmas. The team is supporting a postdoctoral fellowship on a subject related to fundamental questions in hydrodynamic turbulence and/or turbulent transport and related fields. The successful candidate is expected to develop collaboration with several team members. He/She will have access to the team computational means and existing results of direct numerical simulations. The team will provide basic support for travel and small equipment.

Duration of award(s): The successful candidate will benefit from a fixed-term contract as a CNRS employee for 2 Years.
