The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) is funding Staff Exchange Fellowships for academic staff from departments of Agricultural Economics from the CMAAE network universities. AERC is seeking to build a pool of qualified Economists and Policy analysts, through support to a faculty exchange programme. Applicants will visit non-accredited departments in the same network or vice versa for a period of between 6 months and one year. Applicant must be a staff of any of the participating universities and have received invitation as a visiting professor from the host university. The deadline for applying for the fellowship for 2013/2014 is June 30, 2013.

Eligibility: To qualify, an applicant must:
(a) be a staff of any of the participating Universities
(b) have received invitation as a visiting professor from the host university
(c) submit a concept note enumerating the intended course to teach, research work to collaborate in and a budget covering living expense and any research costs.

Scholarship Description: The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) was established in 1988 as a public not organization Staff Exchange Fellowshipsdevoted to the advancement of economic policy research and training in Consortium’s mandate and strategic intent is built on the basis that sustained develop development in sub Saharan Africa requires well-trained, locally based professional economists. AERC agitates the provision of capacity building in economic policy in Francophone and Anglophone African countries through provision of support in the areas of policy research and training. The staff exchange programme target Agricultural Economics from the CMAAE network departments in the same network: University of Pretoria-South Africa, University of Nairobi-Kenya, Makerere University-Uganda, Egerton University-Kenya, Sokoine University-Tanzania, Bunda College of Agriculture-Malawi, Haramaya University –Ethiopia, University of Swaziland –Swaziland, Stellenbosch University- South Africa, National University of Rwanda, Eduardo Mondlane University-Mozambique, University of Zambia, University of Zimbabwe-Zimbabwe, Jomo Kenyatta University-Kenya, Moi University-Kenya, Botswana College of Agriculture-Botswana.
