Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme

Information: Students of excellent academic calibre from developing Commonwealth countries may apply for a small number of Scholarships funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) in partnership with the University. Scholarships are awarded only for taught postgraduate courses which have a developmental emphasis. Priority is given to subjects related to the economic, scientific and social development of the overseas country.

Value: Fees are at the Overseas Student rate; monthly stipend; return air fair from home country.

Eligibility: Applicants domiciled in approved developing British Commonwealth countries only, who have not previously studied in a developed country.

Deadline: 18 April 2008

How to Apply: Completed scholarship forms should be sent to the appropriate Faculty Office direct.

A limited number of awards are offered each year to UK domiciled students and eligible EU Nationals proceeding to Postgraduate study in the Arts and Humanities. Some areas of the Social Sciences are eligible.  The closing date is Thursday, 1 May 2008.
