Scholarship Award: A PhD scholarship runs for a period of three years, and it includes teaching obligations equivalent of six months’ work (840 work hours). A PhD scholarship is a fully salaried position, according to the national Danish collective agreement. The PhD scholarship includes tuition fees, office space, travel grants plus a salary, currently starting with approximately DKK 23.770 (about 3,160 euros) per month up to DKK 28.964 (about 3,860 euros) per month depending on seniority. There also is a pension contribution totalling 17.1 % of 85 percentage points of the base salary.

To be considered, the applicant must enclose documentation that show he/she has a basic training at a Master’s level (similar to the 3 + 2 Bologna process), a minimum grade of 10 (Danish) or B (U.S) in the final thesis project, and fluency in English language (writing and speaking). An educational background in the social sciences is preferable. The applicant must have successfully completed a master’s degree before commencing the PhD at CBS. Also, the applicant must be fluent in English, both in spoken and written forms.

How to Apply: The mode of application is online. The application (see link below) must include a five-page research proposal, which should contain a presentation of an original research question, a description of the initial theoretical framework and methodology, and, finally, an outline of the suggested empirical material and a work-plan.
In addition to the research proposal, the PhD application must include copies of a master’s degree certificate or other certificates of a corresponding level, brief curriculum vitae (CV), a list of potential publications, and one copy of a selected written work (e.g., master’s thesis). Finally, the PhD applicant must include a letter of motivation and three referees (where full contact details including telephone, email, and institution are included).
