The John Templeton Foundation is funding Copernicus center scholarship for postdoctoral researchers in the field of mathematics, mathematical physics, astrophysics and cosmology. The Copernicus Center offers one scholarship for a postdoctoral stay at the Jagiellonian University at the Institute chosen by the researcher (Mathematics, Physics or Astronomy). Student must have a PhD (in physics or astronomy or mathematics) awarded after 01.01.2006 and fluent in English. Submit complete application by March 31, 2013.

Scholarship Description: Jagiellonian UniversityThe Copernicus Center Scholarship for Postdoctoral Researchers, funded by The John Templeton Foundation, is offered to researchers for investigations in the fields of mathematics, mathematical physics, astrophysics and cosmology. The topic of proposed research should lie close to the interests of the group, which are: Non-commutative geometry and its application in physics; Physical viability of metric nonlinear (higher derivative) gravity theories ; Cosmology (with focus on symbolic computation in cosmology); Scientific method at its limit. Philosophical consequences of aspects theories and models.

Number of awards offered: The Copernicus Center offers one scholarship for a postdoctoral stay at the Jagiellonian University at the Institute chosen by the researcher (Mathematics, Physics or Astronomy).

Duration of award(s): The scholarship is awarded for 9 months (proposed starting date: October 1, 2013).

What does it cover? The scholarship provides amount of $2000 (gross amount before tax and health insurance deduction; scholarship will be converted to PLN using current exchange rate).
