The CNAG-CRG is pleased to offer PhD Fellowship in Structural Genomics for the year 2017. International students are eligible to apply for this fellowship. The successful candidate will report to the Structural Genomics Group Leader.
The CNAG-CRG seeks a talented young student with a strong background in bioinformatics for the Structural Genomics Team working on modeling the 3D chromosomal structure in beta cells to identify genetic mechanisms underlying type 2 diabetes. This post will be funded by La Marató de TV3.
The mission of the CRG is to discover and advance knowledge for the benefit of society, public health and economic prosperity.
The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, created in December 2000. It is a non-profit foundation funded by the Catalan Government through the Departments of Economy & Knowledge and Health, the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, the “la Caixa” Banking Foundation, and includes the participation of Pompeu Fabra University.
Course Level: Fellowship is available to pursue PhD programme.
Study Subject: Fellowship is awarded in Structural Genomics. The CNAG-CRG is actively involved in collaborative research projects on a number of specific topics: Disease Gene Identification, Cancer Genomics, Genomics of Infectious Diseases, Model Organism Genomics and Synthetic Biology Genomics.
Scholarship Award: Fellowship for 3 years with a PhD salary as for CNAG-CRG’s scale.
Scholarship can be taken in Spain
Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:
- Master degree in Bioinformatics or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in Bioinformatics analysis.
- Knowledge of 3C related techniques will be a plus.
Nationality: International applicants are eligible to apply for this fellowship.
