  • Nationality: Scholarships are available to EU/EEA, Swiss and Danish citizens, and non-EU/EEA citizens.
  • Study Subject: For the September 2023 entry, the following programs offer a tuition fee waiver and scholarship:

  • Master in Global and Development Studies
  • Master in International Politics and Governance
  • Master in Media and Communication
  • Master in Nordic Urban Planning Studies
  • Master in Computer Science
  • Admirable Eligibility: The following criteria must be met for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:
  • To be eligible to apply for a tuition fee waiver and scholarship, you must be a non-EU/EEA citizen who must pay tuition fees.
  • Note that being eligible to apply for a tuition fee waiver and scholarship does not guarantee that you will be awarded a tuition fee waiver and scholarship. There is a very limited number, and there are many more applicants than tuition fee waivers and scholarships. Applicants are ranked based on their academic performance.
  • The university reserves the right to decide in each admission round that only applicants for specific master programs are considered for tuition fee waivers and scholarships.
  • Tuition fee waiver and scholarship students must follow the study plan and not be delayed to maintain the tuition fee waiver and scholarship.

  • How to Apply: Applicants can apply via the digital application system (DANS), which is open one month before the application deadline. There are seven steps to complete the application:

Students must apply by uploading a motivational letter and CV outlining their academic and occupational background to their online application for admission to the master programs within the application deadlines.

    • IELTS (Academic): 6.5 or
    • TOEFL: internet-based: 83 or
    • Cambridge C1 Advanced, formerly known as Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or
    • Cambridge C2 Proficiency, formerly known as Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE).
    • Official documentation of a full high school qualification and/or a complete bachelor’s degree taught in English from the following countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK, or the USA.Language Requirements: Applicants for the master’s program taught in English or Danish must fulfill the English language requirements. The university accepts the following documents:
    • The IELTS or TOEFL test cannot be more than two years old.

A limited number of Danish state tuition fee waivers and scholarships are offered to highly talented graduate students who come from countries outside of the EU/EEA and need a residence permit to study at Roskilde University.
