The Department of Hematology/Oncology/Immunology at Philips University, Marburg is seeking a Technician with experience in molecular/cell biology  in group headed by PD. Dr. med. Andreas Burchert

Laboratory Description:
Our’s is small international group doing translational research in leukemia. Toward this aim we perform studies using both patient (primary) material and transgenic mouse model systems.

Job Description:
Will process routine samples from clinics as well as perform molecular and cell biology experiments, and possibly work with transgenic mouse models (responsible for maintaining and genotyping genetically altered mouse lines). In addition, will perform routine laboratory duties, including oversight of laboratory stock supplies, aliquoting stock supplies, preparing standard laboratory solutions, bacterial growth medium, and plates.

Job Requirements:
Degree as technical assistant required or Bachelor’s degree in science required. Must be fluent in English and German. Should have strong laboratory skills. Familiarity with the basic molecular biology techniques, FACS and maintainence of mouse colonies is added advantage. Full training will be given to candidates who are fast learners.
