Design of advanced algorithm for Fault detection and automatic diagnostic of helicopters (Eurocopter/LAGIS) France

Description : Supervised by Prof. Jean Philppe CASSAR and Dr K. Midzodzi PEKPE at Laboratoire d’Automatique, de Génie Informatique et Signal (LAGIS), Lille, France and Prof. Pierre-Antoine AUBOURG and Dr Hervé MOREL in Eurocopter group.

This thesis aims increasing availability, and security of helicopters, decreasing the exploitation costs and improving maintenance by introducing conditional maintenance and credit of maintenance.

Profile: The candidate must have a Master degree and a strong knowledge in automatic and signal processing. Knowledge in technical data analysis is also desired. The candidate should have the ability to do independent research and a good sense of human contact.

A 3-year PhD fellowship (funded by Eurocopter group) is available for this project.

Conditions: The subject will be developed in the framework of a thesis of the Lille 1 University in collaboration with the Eurocopter Company. The successful candidate will conduct his research within the company Eurocopter at Marseille (France). He will spend several months at the laboratory LAGIS of the Lille 1 University.
